I have always been fortunate to connect with outstanding mentors throughout life.
I learned early on in my career to seek out those who excelled in their chosen fields and learn what made them tick. The impact has certainly been positive.
Recently, I lost one of my long-term mentor's and friend. Don Hughes and I started our insurance careers together in the early nineties. Don had already been successful in the banking industry and then decided to embark on a new adventure and career path.
Not only did he give me sage advice over the years, but he was also a great sounding board. Don believed in enjoying life and always had smile when he greeted you.
I will miss his guidance and friendship.
